"Chicks on Anime" on the Anime News Network have posted their interview with GloBL writer Tina Anderson.  I think it is a very interesting read into the differences between BL and GloBL and why GloBL shouldn't be called yaoi.  To read the interview, click here.  To check out Tina Anderson's blog, click here. I myself haven't gotten into GloBL simply because I haven't found anything that appeals to my taste as of yet.  I do, however, peruse the various titles and periodically read through some of the ones available as web comics.  There seems to be a definite rift between those of us who love BL/yaoi and those of us who go for GloBL.  It seems as if the GloBL authors really strive to steer away from imitating Japanese BL, which I don't always understand.  BL is very popular and I don't see what the issue is with imitating a style if you enjoy it.  Of course, if it is simply because you want to do your own thing, then that is fine.  I have read a few interviews with GloBL authors and talked with a few online and to imitate anything Japanese seems to be frowned upon.  My question is, what does the author who likes the BL genre do when they want to publish their own GloBL manga? Where does it fit in the greater scheme of things? It would seem that other GloBL authors would shun it as would BL/yaoi fans.  This is going to take some further research, I think… :-)

Yes, you heard me right, Ikoku Irokoi Romantan OVA 2 has been fansubbed in English!!! (This may be better known as A Foreign Love Affair by some of you English readers of the manga)  However, be aware that AarinFantasy.com is not hosting it so you will need to find it elsewhere (hint… it’s called YouTube).  ;-)
