Just finished reading this one and the smile is STILL on my face. I’m really enjoying this series and can’t wait for the next installment. SOOOO funny! Well, let’s get to it, shall we? In volume two, Raizou and Kon take their relationship to the next level. Well, they try to anyway. Let’s just say that most of this volume involved the ups and downs of their first time together (no pun intended!). I haven’t laughed this hard over a yaoi manga in a long time, at least not since volume 1 anyway. Poor Raizou, he just can’t catch a break. Besides watching the fun, we also find out more about the Kotodama that Kon originally had, which throws quite a wrench into things when the Kotodama’s mother decides it’s time for Kon to come back home. Will Kon stay or come back to Raizou?
I like that this is a relatively meaty book in terms of length and also that 801 Media gives us at least one color page in the front; it’s very pretty. The translation seemed up to par with volume one but there were two spots where there was either a word missing or to me, the speech bubbles were out of order and seemed to disrupt my reading for a moment or two.
As far as the characters, they all make an appearance in this volume and although there were more sex scenes dedicated to Raizou and Kon, the others DO get their turn toward the end to show off a bit. Although this is a sexually explicit title, there seems to be a lot of snow in the sex scenes so don’t expect to see much detail. Disappointing because this is one I would have loved to see the sex scenes in better detail or should I say, less censored than they currently are.
Even with the heavy handed censoring of the sex scenes, I still highly recommend this title to anyone unsure of picking it up. It is so damn funny and has so many characters to keep the story fresh and fun that I really think you’d be missing out if you passed on it.
