Greetings to all our friends and fans,

I am pleased to say that the DQ team is still together and alive! Yes, we are working quietly to get our books out. We did lose some of our licenses, a very sad topic that causes me some pains T.T but it's not the end.

It's been a lone time since I last posted, mainly because I have been working with our team to revamp DQ and do things a bit differently. I will announce our news once things are confirmed and in motion for you all.

Please know that we have appreciated all your support and the emails you have sent giving us your kind comments remindind us why we love DQ so much. It has been a challenging journey, but we are not quitters. We made some mistakes, but that's learned and past. Now we look forward to the present 2010 and beyond.

RUSH is still alive and we're thinking of doing something very unique with the anthology, so all those who have paid for the subscription will not be disappointed in us. It might be delayed, but we keep our promises.

And lastly, WE ARE STILL SHIPPING OUT BOOKS!!! So please take advantage of the sale to purchase any books you don't have and please let your friends know that we are STILL IN BUSINESS.

With much gratitude an affection,

LadyQ and Team

I've said this before on the DQ forums and I'll say it again, this reminds me too much of Charlie Brown, Lucy and that damn football. I'm not kicking it this time.

  • Thank God, you’ve stopped falling for that gag, now if everyone else would, we can all get down to the business of supporting the real publishers.

  • Shipping out what books? Oh, you mean the books that no one wants anymore because it was so crappy? Ooooh, those. I want my Empty Heart by Minase Masara! Why do you lie so, DramaQueen? Why? My poor heart can’t take it! *runs away sobbing*

  • I agree with the whole Charlie Brown metaphor. It fits. Like you, I’m not going to kick it. I know things may turn sour for a business, but their MIA-status is not excusable.

That’s exactly what my issue with them is. I have no problem helping out a struggling publisher. I DO have a problem giving them my money if they have no intention of giving me my product. Also, the lack of updates and the poor treatment of their artists are just more factors that leave me with a bad taste in my mouth.

Yeah, seriously. I wished they’d just declare themselves dead, so we can just forget about them. They lost their licences to other companies. That’s saying a lot.

It makes me wonder if those licenses were actually yanked from them before the expiration of the contract or if they simply were not renewed.

I would not be able to tell you. I am clueless on how businesses like that works. XD

. . . All I know is that there are certain whatyamacallit standards that should be followed when conducting businesses, and leaving your customers in the dust is not a standard.

  • Hey DramaQueen! Do you still have the Lovely Sick license? I would ask that you continue that series, if you can..!!

Please tell me you’re being sarcastic…

  • A girl can hope, right? XD Sigh. It’s a real shame DigitalManga/801 can’t sweep up all of the DQ licenses… (not that Lovely Sick would make the cut, it’s such a controversial title…)

I guess I can’t fault you for hoping. XD

  • I want to believe. I do. But seriously, I find it hard to believe that all of their licenses have not or will not soon expire. It’s not like I believe they actually have any capital to invest in dragging themselves out of the ground.

  • It feels like they make this announcement every year & then disappear into oblivion the rest of the year. I think they should just close shop for the sake of the yaoi fans who they say supports them. My guess is that these people who e-mail are thinking they’re writing to the ice cream shop.

  • I think they’re not shipping Empty Heart because it says it’s OUT OF STOCK on the website, yet they still leave the sale open when they get around to reprinting it. It’s out of stock EVERYWHERE. Until DramaQueen announces the reprint, you’re not getting it.
