  • This sounds like a joint license, doesn’t it? That’s kind of interesting. I haven’t seen them announce a Libre title in this partnership kind of way before, though I’ll admit I haven’t paid close attention.

I’m so excited about this! My heart almost jumped out of my chest when I heard about it. We all knew it was coming, but WHOOHOO!

  • That is so cool!

When I read the scans, I wasn’t that impressed with it, but maybe my opinions will change now. :)

Jennifer LeBlanc AKA Asami's Girl Reply:

I think some of the earlier scans were done by a different team than the one handling it now. I love it! I know, shocking right? XD

Correct me if I’m wrong, but it was licensed by BeBeautiful and they released two volumes before kaputing, right?

Jennifer LeBlanc AKA Asami's Girl Reply:

They released three volumes in total but I’ve heard their translation wasn’t very good and that Ayano Yamane was not happy with their release of it.

Plus she said she never saw any royalties from the last volume, so I hope people buy the new one so she does.

  • Did I call it, or did I call it? ^_^

I just never expected it to be announced so quickly! I guess they want the hype to build (and be the ones annoucing it before Amazon ruined the surprise by listing it) over the next six month run-up to Yaoi-Con.

Jennifer LeBlanc AKA Asami's Girl Reply:

    Hey, don’t forget who was harassing them at YaoiCon trying to get an answer! ;-) I knew as soon as they said they had a ‘big license’ announcement that this was it. It was just killing me to wait. ;_;

    Cait Reply:

They said they had another big announcement AT Yaoi-Con last year? Or was this more recently? If it was at YC, that means they knew then that they were getting the license and have been sitting on it (somehow managing to prevent a leak) for 4 months. That’s staggering to think about. It would also mean that production is well underway, so we should see volume 1 pretty early this summer right?

I think she’s talking about the big announcement they mentioned in their forums mid January. It wasn’t licensed at the time of yaoi-con last year, or even a couple months after that.

    I see, thanks.

I was talking about during the DMP panel when I was grilling them specifically about Viewfinder. She pretty much gave me a ‘no comment’ with a sly grin and then I knew they were for sure working on the license.

    Cait Reply:

Oh, ho! That means they were at the very least trying to get the license at the time. How telling… ^_^

You called it? You’re a Genius!!!!
Woo Hoo! VF within a year!

  • I am so thrilled, omg! We have waited for so long… I still have my vol.1 (first BL I bought, I was 14 olol) from the old license hidden away in my porn drawer, and now it’s finally continued! It holds a special place in my heart as my ~first~

I sure hope June doesn’t censor it, I would’ve preferred it on 801 :/ I don’t really like June’s format, either… but who cares! It’s back and I’m ultra happy! Now my collection can be continued~~~~

Jennifer LeBlanc AKA Asami's Girl Reply:

It’s not going to be in their big format so that’s good news. :-)

    Really? that’s great! :D

Is Kizuna a “small format” June title too? This is getting confusing.
But I’m just glad they’ve licensed this, and are going to rework the translation.
Now, if there are colour inserts…. kyaaa!

  • I’m excited about it :) I have the 3 volumes from BB so I’ll be comparing when I buy the vols from June. I wonder what it will do to the existing ebay bids taking place on some of the viewfinder books right now? One bid was up to $100 for one volume. Maybe I should have cashed in on my BB versions when I had the chance *grin* Just kiddin’ – it didn’t seem right to me to do that, charging hundreds of dollars for one book.

    [Reply to this comment]

Jennifer LeBlanc AKA Asami's Girl Reply:

Me too! I couldn’t part with my BB copies though. They mean so much to me. I’m debating which I want her to sign at YaoiCon. The June one’s won’t have the same meaning for me.

    [Reply to this comment]

    Jb Reply:

Yep, me too. For all that people griped about and hated BB’s books, not me. They were the first to bring the most desired books stuff over in an uncertain environment, and that will always mean something to me. I have my 3 VF books bagged and tagged, as well as my Embracing Love and Kizuna books (and all the other ones I have from BB). I think the only books I never got from BB was Golden Cain and the MINAMI Haruka book because I’m not much a fan of her work).

    [Reply to this comment]

    Beruda Reply:

I agree. BB did a lot of good things for yaoi. They also brought Kazuma Kodaka and Yokka Nitta over to the states. I have all 3 books but I’m glad they are finally being published again.

    [Reply to this comment]

  • Ah, our suspicions are confirmed. Yay!!! :D

    [Reply to this comment]

  • This news just made my day! I was hoping that Deux would have grabbed it but unfortunately they appear to be having some issues. Who cares, bring on the volumes!

  • honestly..i have mixed feelings..happy for sensei..honestly..she deserves it.and all but what will happen to us who live in places where we cant get a finger on any thing yaoi..how will we get VF..it means literally the end of VF for me..and im sad..i wish i had a way to order..but i dont think any one will ship it to Bangladesh…i hope my comment doesnt upset any one..its just that im happy and i am sad…
