It broke my heart when I first watched it.
And now is doing it again.

And about similar story:NO.Belive me I have search and search for something with same depth and tragedy and I couldnt find anythinhg.You simply cannot posiblly find an anime that has so much hotness (ANK was and remains the sexyest anime I have ever watched,and belive me -I tried! )) ),such tension and angst between caracters (Iason Mink is the best loking seme ever and the greatest vilan and bastard and he is proud of it) and all of that combined with an real good plot an great true emotions.Just there isn’t any.
I especialy like master/slave relationships but everything that I found so far on that subject is jus some poor excuse for caracters to get laid.
If you like angst and drama then I recomend you : Zetsuai (Bronze) and Winter Cicada,Mirage of Blaze isn’t that bad eather but it’s much more simpler than past two.
As for mangas my absolute MUST READ is: Kwaii Hito Cut and Boys Next Door by Yuki Kaori ,and Giglio (althought it contains only one chapter it is still worth it.)
You could also try reading some ANK fanfiction,some of the stories are realy good. (warning Taming Riki is just a god slash,if you want better stories try some shorter ones (you can start here http://www.fictionresource.com/slash/recs.php?serie=Ai+No+Kusabi)

This is really terrible. This style of story suits my tastes very well, and aside from liking this one in particular, I just don’t really know what I should be looking for instead. Does anyone have suggestions on a similar kind of story that’s out? It’s hard to find good info sometimes. THANKS!

if the rumor is true it is god awful!! i have all the books and read them all along with watching the ovas. i was looking foward to the remake so much but just to confirm this i sent an email and hopefully i will get one beck soon to find out the truth… T_T

Man, this is a big HUGE bummer for me I was one of the fans really looking foreward to the whole remake thing as well, I was going all fangirl and Iasons entrance in the 8 min clip of it! Iason was SO cool! Man…this is utterly a BIG bummer…lets hope that they can pick it up again in the future. I say that they should have made Ai no Kusabi rather than Togainu no Chi…:P Togainu no Chi’s anime isnt going well at all. Ugh….big disappointment.

The BL industry doesnt get alot of money -sigh-

All I’ve heard about this is bad news so far, about the project being shut down. Rumours or not, I think its pretty much safe to say they have cancelled it. I for one am heart-broken… I’ve been looking forward to this ever since I heard about it and a lot of fans have been so patient, knowing that it’d be worth any amount of time spent waiting… And alas, now we hear this… One of the best- Nay /the/ best yaoi title in my opinion, and… This is just too sad… I can’t even compose a proper sentence. Forgive me.

Hi, guys,

since there still seems to be a bit of uncertainty about whether or not this talk about the remake being cancelled is a rumor or fact:

Sadly, it is FACT. If you go to the official Ai no Kusabi website you will notice the pinkish box on the left hand side. That is the official announcement that the project is discontinued. No reasons for this decision where given in that explanation, just that they are said to announce that circumstances made it impossible to go on with the project and that it was discontinued.

If you go to Aarin we talked about it in length in the AnK remake thread at the time and you will also find a verbatim translation there.

Also, I mentioned on Aarin several weeks before the official announcement was put up on the website that this was going to happen since my own sources in Tokyo had told me for a while about the respective problems regarding this project, so it didn’t come as a surprise. When they cancelled the event at CAFE801 on short notice we pretty much knew it was pretty much over.

So, yes: The Ai no Kusabi remake is officially cancelled.

Sorry, there is no better news. :/

This is incredibly sad indeed. Damn fatcats and moneytakers who raise the cost of even the small things! They should be ashamed!

Oh well. Let’s just hope the team gathers enough money soon to continue with this project. It’s got millions of fans who are practically puddles on the floor about this. (T_T” is one of them). Nevertheless, we’re all still waiting.
