Ask Hinako Takanaga a Question!
How would you like the opportunity to ask your favorite mangaka a question? Well, if that mangaka is Hinako Takanaga of Tyrant and Little Butterfly fame, now you can! DMP has been gracious enough to give me the opportunity to interview Ms. Takanaga at YaoiCon this Saturday and I thought what better interview than an interview of fan submitted questions? All you have to do is submit your question in the comment section below and I will pick a choice few to ask Sensei during the interview. I'll of course interject here and there with follow up questions to keep it coherent. 
Time is limited! I need to organize my questions Friday night so hurry and good luck!

Hello, I’m from Brazil and I love the work of Takanago-sensei. I’m privileged because I can buy and read my mangas, but few people in my country can read Japanese.
So, my question is about scanlattors grous, I think most of them understand that this practice is illegal, but they give a chance for the work of many mangakas be recognized in remote lands. I like to know if the sensei has any opinions about these groups. Thanks in advance!

That’s really awesome! So many things I wanted to know. Well, if possible I’d like to ask 2 classic questions.
- what are her artistic references
- What advices she could give to aspiring/amateur artists
And if there’s time to ask, how many pages she does per week or month.

Wow. That’s really awesome you get to interview her. If time permits, will you be able to ask:
- Where she gets most of her inspiration for story or characters?
- What her favorite story and pairing is?
- And if she ever feels awkward or embarrassed drawing more intimate scenes.

Well, for one, thank you for extending us the opportunity to ask questions we’ve always wanted to ask! I’ve always wanted to know a few things. I’m just going to list a few, but it’s fine if none of them get chosen, these are things I’ve always been wondering whenever I pick up one of her books.
~ Where does she get her ideas for her stories?
~ Are her characters ever based on people she meets in real life? (because if they are, I’d love to meet them… xD)
~ Her technique drawing the male anatomy is amazing (all those difficult poses!), did she go to school to learn how to draw it properly or did she rely heavily on references?
Aaaaaaand I can’t seem to remember the other questions I wanted to ask, lol. Thank you again for allowing us to ask a few questions!

I’ll be at YaoiCon this weekend and will definitely want to watch this interview live!! (In fact, I will likely be in cosplay as one of Takanaga-sensei’s characters from Bukiyou na Silent…) You’re really kind to be offering us an opportunity like this! Thank you!

“Have you ever had to pull all-nighters in order to finish your work? If so, how often does it happen and how do you handle it (as in, her attitude when she is pressured to finish her work quickly)?”

My questions would concern the Tyrant. First, does she resent in any way the fact that many fans think of Challengers only as “the origin of Koi suru” and aren’t that much interested in the main Kurokawa-san/Tatsumi-kun pairing? (Though I think it’s a shame people disregard Challengers, since it’s a great series, I’m actually a huge fan of Koi suru, too. So, just curious.)
Then there’s THE question: does she intend to make a spin-off series about Kunihiro and Masaki? I’m sorry if this has already been asked, but obviously, that’s what we’ve all been wondering.
How long is the series supposed to last? Or rather, does she already know when she will stop? Is volume 7 the last?
On an unrelated topic, how does she manage to tweet so much? She’s totally spamming my twitter page O_O Don’t get me wrong, I think that’s sweet and funny, I’m just impressed! ^_^

Thank you for this rare opportunity! I really wanted to go to Yaoi-con myself but being unemployed that is impossible. That and I’m a humble country girl all the way out here on the far east coast. I loved Sensei’s manga, “Croquis” with such a touching and beautiful storyline. It’s by far my favorite of all her work.

I’m not really sure what I want to ask her; more than anything I wish I could go to the convention myself and bask in her presence *_*
but I’ll try to think….:
-Will she ever make a yaoi with any older men in the pair?
-What inspires her for her own stories?
-Does she have a favorite yaoi manga artist/ yaoi manga? An artist she admires?
-What is her favorite non-canon BL pairing, like from a shounen anime/manga or something? If she has one. (like, KaworuxShinji or SuzakuxLelouch, and so on)
-What is her favorite couple from her own works?
Also, you should tell her that there are so many fans out there that wish they could make it, and we all adore her works and hope she continues making such amazing characters and stories! <3

Thx for giving us this space!!, for me this is VERY important!! I´m so grateful..
I come from Costa Rica, and as the whole world, here there are a lot of people who love sensei´s work..and that´s the first thing I´d like her to know.
But here are my questions:
1. how do you feel knowing that your work is so aprecciated in the entire world xD?
2. has she ever felt dissapointed or like she´s not doing it well (I mean, like giving up)about a manga? Why? How did she overcome it?
3. Do you prefer Sempai or Morinaga? ///

- how does she illustrate her characters, I mean does she have the whole image in her mind before drawing or is it that she fit thinks of the background after drawing the character
-the last one: why is it that Morinaga has the eyes of a Uke (big round & sparkly) while the real one(Souichi) has sharp ones?

First of all, thank you very much for thinking of other fans who’d like to ask questions instead of only what you yourself would like to ask. I respect you for that.
I just read all these comments and there were some questions that sparked my attention. But since they have been asked already, I’ll just focus on the questions that haven’t been. Which is just one, actually. :3
This is what I’d like to ask Takanaga Hinako:
• Will Souichi of Koi Suru Boukun be more open for other homosexual relationships besides the one he has with Morinaga if their relationship would ever end?
- Or differently asked; is he Only Gay For Morinaga or will he accept other men as well due to him having experienced a homosexual relationship?
That’s about it.
I’m really curious to her answer ofc., but even if my question isn’t chosen I will be happy to read her answers to the other questions.
