RELEASE DATES: 2011/12 Release List

The 2011 Release List documenting all yaoi manga and novels being released this year has been updated and can be found here or in its usual spot in the top bar titled "Release List". I have highlighted all titles by TOKYOPOP and BLUMANGA so you can be aware of what may not be releasing due to their upcoming closure May 31st.

Additions made include Great Place High School Student Council V3, Mr. Tiger & Mr. Wolf, Only Serious About You, A Fallen Saint's Kiss and Black Butler V8.

Another discovery I made while updating the list is the lack of NETCOMICS releases. In 2009, they released 15 books. In 2010 they only released 2 books and so far this year they have only had 1 release. The last time they released any boys' love was in 2009. However, they are still updating their digital content so perhaps they are riding out the financial storm by sticking to digital releases for right now. I hope they aren't the next one to fall.

I also wonder about Yaoi Gen and Media Blasters. Of course, Drama Queen is always a question as well, though they did release Missing Road.

YaoiGen I’m pretty sure is done. They won’t respond to my emails and they were always very willing to share info before. Media Blasters has shown life recently but then they also have fallen silent again and won’t respond to emails. DramaQueen I don’t think will ever come back but they’re trying. They’ve burned a lot of bridges with fans so they also need to overcome that.

Looking at that list depresses me.

Unless something happens, it looks like June/801 are the only key yaoi/bl publisher really left. X_x;; *sighs*

Ze vol 6 is available worldwide now.
Bookdepository and Fishpond (Aust/NZ book retailer) have it listed for sale.
My personal guess about the delay on this book is that DMP underestimated demand and ran out of stock.

I have to wonder how much longer will DMP and it’s multiple imprints will last. Its also, really depressing to only have June/801 media as the only exclusive publishers of yaoi here in America.

Sasahara is known to be a shrewd business man and I think the decisions he makes are always thinking of the bottom line for the company and its imprints. If you ever followed Stu’s twitter page, you’d see he’s been bored with publishing manga for awhile. He’s said some things that spoke very clear of his intent. I just didn’t think it was going to happen so soon I guess.

DokiDoki is barely releasing anything.
And June is the only that’s active every month.
And Are you sure that ZE was released in February? I asked the bookstore I usually order and they say they can’t order ZE right now because it’s unavaible (she orders from iPage)
