YAOI NEWS: Hinako Takanaga Announces End of Tyrant
Hinako Takanaga just announced via twitter her plans on ending The Tyrant Falls in Love. Here are the numerous tweets compiled together as one complete message:
"Because I received so many questions if the series of "Bokun" ends by vol.7, here is my answer below. Actually, I would say this is the final story for this series. The reason for anouncing this so sudden is that even though I was planning to end off the series at first, I always get off the track while making a story and wasn't sure myself if it ends or not. Although, the series ends this time, I still have some additional episodes for "Bokun" that I'm planning to make a one-shot, or some short stories from now on. Therefore, please keep supporting me and also this "Bokun" series as so far. At last, I always appreciate for your messages from foreign countries. Thank you so much. Lots of love, Hinako Takanaga"
So although she stated in her interview with me that it would continue past volume 7, it appears it will not be (KudouUsagi clarified in comments below that based on how Sensei's latest arc is going, it should be going through 8 volumes and then the extra stories after that).
EDIT: Here is a little more explanation that was posted on her LiveJournal Community.

I’m glad it has an ending! I love long series, but I hate those that never seems to end O_o; A convoluted series is becoming one of my pet peeves after reading Gravitation X___X;;;
Still, it’s sad Tyrant is ending. I’m just glad Tyrant got licensed by DMP instead of Blu . . .
Speaking of Tyrant! Must get volume 3!

I’m glad I’m not the only one. I mean Gravitation will always have a place in my heart as probable the first BL anime I’ve seen, but the manga is a piece of compost.

I’m glad I’m not the only who feels that way. The Gravitation anime will always be one of my favourite series to watch, but the mangas? Uh, no. I’m packing to move to a new place right now, and Gravitation mangas are NOT coming with me. No offence to Murakami, but I am not torturing myself to reading that ever again. X_X;;;

Although there are some things in the manga that I wish had made their way into the anime, and although I felt the anime was a tad short, I have always considered the Gravitation anime to be better than the manga simply because Murakami went way overboard letting herself do whatever craziness she felt like. Story? Characters? Pff, no, insanity all the way. At least the anime reined that in. There were no giant robotic pandas in the anime, thank goodness.

The anime does feel short, but I think if they made it longer what would they have done to it? Put in that dreaded giant robotic pandas? When I came upon that in the manga, and the whole plotline with that crazy girl going after Shuuichi or Yuri or whoever she was going after, I was ready to stab my eyes out and throw the mangas out the window! I also feel like the Yuri plot in the anime was just . . . I dunno, left us hanging or something in the anime. Then again, it left us hanging in the manga, as well, so, uh, that’s okay, I guess?
Regardless, the anime was much more tolerable than the manga! I regret getting the Gravitation mangas, but I’m so glad I bought them second-hand instead of brand new! Though now I wished I’d saved my money instead!

Koisuru Boukun will technically go beyond the 7th “volume” up until now each of her story arcs have fit into one volume but this one is longer and is going to take up two. So Koisuru Boukun will be 8 volumes. And then after that there will be an after story volume <3

Thank you! It was a little confusing and seemed like it would be 8 volumes but her tweet wasn’t real clear. I’ll update the post.
