Antisocial and cranky writer Kokuyo has a bad tendency to get lost in his writing. So much so he forgets to take care of himself and constantly ends up in the hospital. Tired of having to come to his friend’s rescue, friend Seiki decides to give Kokuyo one of his company’s new prototype replicants (aka android) named Shiro. Kokuyo has always lived alone so the idea of having an intruder in his house to take care of him is not appealing but he caves to his friend’s demand and takes Shiro home. I won’t go into any more of the storyline because there’s not much else to say without giving away too much of the story.

I think the premise of the story is a good one. There’s something about male android stories that I do really enjoy but I think this one falls a little flat. The feelings these two develop happen way too fast for me based on how the story was set up. The characters are well drawn and I think they are all pretty sexy. The ukes in the story are the young big eyed kind so if you’re not into that, you won’t like this one. I’m not a fan of it but I found it to be acceptable here. The sex scenes aren’t remotely sexy at all. Even a non-explicit sex scene can be hot if done well but to me these were just random positions thrown on a page to show they had sex. It really added nothing to the story. The translation seemed fine although I don’t love the way the speech bubbles were done. If I have to pause to double-check which character a speech bubble is supposed to go to, then that’s a fail.

Overall, I wouldn’t say I felt this one was a waste of time but I do feel like there was a lot more potential to be had with the plot. It’s a cute story with cute characters but zero sexual tension or sexiness to be had.
