No, I did not fall off the face of the earth these last two months. What started off as a short hiatus to move into a new apartment turned into a long hiatus to have emergency surgery and buy a new damn computer 'cause my other one died a horrendous death causing me to lose a lot of stuff I didn't want to. (let's not even discuss that external hard-drive that did NOT do its job >_> ) Anywayz, I almost have my new laptop functional enough to get back into updating the site on a regular(ish) basis so let's celebrate with a new banner!

If you remember, we had a banner contest at the beginning of the year and this was our 2nd place winner. It was supposed to go up July 1st but yeah, life happened. Well, it's up now and it will get its time to shine! I've got something REALLY exciting coming up but I'm keeping it hush hush for right now. *cough* Viewfinder related *cough*  Yep, totally hush hush. ;-)

Since the news broke about the licensing of Viewfinder, many fans have been questioning why June would be handling the title instead of 801 Media. Deb Aoki over at About.Com: Manga shot off some questions to Michelle Mauk at Digital Manga Publishing addressing that very question. As far as the bigger concern of censorship, although not specifically addressed with a question, she does touch on it a bit by saying "So this title is special, and we are treating it as something special. We're shooting for the stars here, so we have to make it count!". I'm thinking by saying it will be treated 'special' (hell, it has its own website already!) that this is their way of saying it won't be treated like their typical June titles and therefore won't be censored all to hell.

What do you think? Worried? Not worried? Don't care?

ANN reported yesterday that Media Blasters is going through some layoffs due to decreasing vendor orders. Kitty Media is a part of Media Blasters and a publisher of yaoi. This explains why they have been slow or delayed on some releases. Unfortunately, Kitty Media holds the license for Crimson Spell so I'm thinking it will be a long time before we see Crimson Spell V3 IF we see it at all. I'm not saying they are on their way out, just that I don't think yaoi is top on their list of priorities right now but I could be wrong. I've sent off an email to them so if they respond with any further information, I'll let you know. This also makes me question if they are still in the running for the Viewfinder license. That's going to be one pricey license and I can't imagine them shelling out money for it at a time like this. I guess we'll see. :-)

Your thoughts?

(As I was typing this I received an email from Rightstuf telling me Wintertime Love's release date is now 12/12/12 (this is a Kitty Media title). I've seen Rightstuf do this before and that usually means they don't have a release date for it anymore. Their site says "Coming Soon, Date to be Determined". ANN stated Media Blasters didn't think the layoffs would affect their current release schedule. I find it hard to believe this is a coincidence though.)

Unless you've been under a rock all day you've probably heard that YaoiCon announced their guest for the 2010 convention and it's Ayano Yamane (excuse me while I go change my pants). I'm going to allow this once and only once 'cause you all know how I feel about squeeing. Ready? One… two…. three…. SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *runs around like a crazy woman, slams into wall* Ow. >.<  Well, I'm glad THAT'S out of my system…. NOT!!! XD  Here's the info from YaoiCon as well as some personal info on her. Oh, and if you're wondering how you'll find me at YaoiCon, I'll be the one madly humping her leg at the autograph session. ^_^

Here's a new AMV and I'm sort of biased… it's my FAV series View Finder and since I am Asami's Girl, I had to feature my boy toy at least once this year.  Enjoy!

Yes, you heard me right, Ikoku Irokoi Romantan OVA 2 has been fansubbed in English!!! (This may be better known as A Foreign Love Affair by some of you English readers of the manga)  However, be aware that AarinFantasy.com is not hosting it so you will need to find it elsewhere (hint… it’s called YouTube).  ;-)
