The June issue of BeBoy Gold has the lastest drama CD of Ayano Yamane, Finder no Hyouteki. You can pick up your copy via Akadot or YaoiClub as both currently have issues available and the cost is the same. Some of the titles included in this issue are:

* Secret Flight by Ren Tamaki
* Papa wa Tsuraiyo by Ryo Sakurai
* Not Equal by Reibun Ike
* Dannasama to Mitsugetsuchu by Haruka Minami

There are other stories included and of course, this is entirely in Japanese. The cost is $17.00 and if you ship by media mail, which is the least expensive, the total cost is $23.08 (I'm in the U.S. and this was the total cost when I ordered it). Also, Sensei has confirmed that the Crimson Spell drama CD will be released in the next issue of issue of Chara Selection released on July 22nd.

As soon as this issue of Chara Selection is out, I will let you know as it is carried by both Akadot and Yaoi Club.

There have been a lot of questions recently about when the Viewfinder animix is to be released. As of right now Sensei is not spilling the beans (I've asked twice!), but she has been very good about posting pictures of the animix in process. Since she is very much involved in how the animix will look I'm guessing it is still in the process of being made based on the screenshots (which I've posted below). As you'll see, they are very high quality, which is to be expected of any project Sensei is involved in. Even though it's not an anime, I think we will all still be very happy.

Speaking of, there was a lot of confusion at YaoiCon when the translator accidentally said 'anime' instead of 'animix' during Sensei's panel. If you've never seen an animix before, here is a clip of the Yebisu Celebrities animix so you can get an idea of what to expect:

Wow, I can't believe it yet I can! Ayano Yamane's Finder 3: One Wing in the Viewfinder has hit #4 on the New York Time's best selling manga list for the week ending April 16th! Here's the entire top 10 list:

EDIT: The Arts Beat over at the New York Times specifically mentions Viewfinder out of all of the manga above!

"Over on the manga list, at No. 4, there is “Finder,” Vol. 3, an example of yaoi (boy love) manga, which is about a twisted romance between a photographer and an underworld tough."

HA! Poor Asami is an 'underworld tough'. I love it! Congratulations, Sensei!

Back on October 14th I posted a 'rumor' about Crimson Spell V3 based on some twitter dialogue between myself and Media Blasters, Kitty Media's parent company. Shortly after YaoiCon and again on Twitter it was brought to my attention by @Shelly_LR that Media Blaster's employee(s) had said they were shutting down their manga division and selling their licenses. I shot off an email to Donna Lopez, Media Blaster's Sales Department Manager asking for clarification of both their manga division as well as Crimson Spell. Here was her response:

Hi Jennifer,

 

Thank you for your inquiry.  Please be advised that the Yaoi division is not closing and will restart in 2011.  We are just trying to figure out a new way to handle our Yaoi division in 2011, which has not been confirmed.  Please feel free to follow up with me again in 2011. On another note we are planning on doing more Crimson Spell but [not] exactly sure of those plans yet.  We will make any announcements necessary once we determine what direction we are going in.  Thank you again for your inquiry and please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

Well, I for one love Kitty Media and their titles so I'm happy for any hope. They are only one of two publishers that publish hard yaoi so without them our options are limited and small. I'll be sure to follow up with them in 2011 and keep you posted.
