RUMOR MILL: Crimson Spell Volume 3?
As you may or may not know, I'm an avid tweeter (on Twitter) so I was surprised and thrilled to see Media Blasters AKA Kitty Media starting a Twitter account. Anyway, it wasn't long before someone asked them about Crimson Spell V3's potential release (thank you @Shelly_LR from the Yamane Ayano LiveJournal Community for asking!) Here was their initial response:
@Shelly_LR Our manga publishing is on hold for the moment.
Well, I'm not sure what happened but this was their response later in the day:
@TheYaoiReview @Shelly_LR @yamaneayano Re: Crimson Spell 3 -
we're hoping to have it in 2011. We're hoping to reprint Crimson Spell 2 soon.
Perhaps it was because Ayano Yamane was included in a retweet? Who knows! All I know is that we now have some hope for getting more of this fabulous series!
So, what do you think? Excited to see there's hope? Excited to hear anything related to Kitty Media? Make your voices heard!

CONTEST: Winners of the Viewfinder Contest!
There were a decent amount of entries but deciding who deserved to call themselves Viewfinder's BIGGEST fan wasn't easy. Let me start by saying that illegally downloaded materials did not qualify as proving you are the biggest fan. Sorry. Once I weeded those entries out, I chose 4 that I felt deserved a copy even though I did have 5 copies to give away. So without further adieu, here they are!
This entry stood out above all others. Now THIS is dedication!
I'm such a big fan of The Finder series that I immediately purchased all three released volumes from BeBeautiful on the days they became available for purchase from their website. I then packed the books in a ziplock bag, with the air squeezed out, and placed them in a fireproof safe for safe keeping. ~Jukebox
Awesome!
CONTEST:Are you Finder’s biggest fan? PROVE IT!
If you think you're Finder's biggest fan, here is your chance to prove it and win an ADVANCED COPY of volume 1 releasing in September! How do you prove it? You decide! I'm leaving it totally up to you. Write a poem, photograph your collection, do a video of yourself squeeing over its upcoming release… it's up to you! Whatever you choose, do it fast! This contest ends at midnight PST on August 31st, 2010.
Oh, did I mention I have FIVE COPIES to give away AND that this contest is open to ALL countries? No excuses! Now show some love to Digital Manga who has graciously agreed to provide the five advanced copies AND were nice enough to agree to ship them international when I asked. You know me, always looking out for my international readers.
Feel free to comment here, thank them on twitter or visit them on their site.
All contest entries must be submitted by midnight PST on 8/31/10 via email to:

SITE UPDATE: WTF?
No, I did not fall off the face of the earth these last two months. What started off as a short hiatus to move into a new apartment turned into a long hiatus to have emergency surgery and buy a new damn computer 'cause my other one died a horrendous death causing me to lose a lot of stuff I didn't want to. (let's not even discuss that external hard-drive that did NOT do its job >_> ) Anywayz, I almost have my new laptop functional enough to get back into updating the site on a regular(ish) basis so let's celebrate with a new banner!
If you remember, we had a banner contest at the beginning of the year and this was our 2nd place winner. It was supposed to go up July 1st but yeah, life happened. Well, it's up now and it will get its time to shine! I've got something REALLY exciting coming up but I'm keeping it hush hush for right now. *cough* Viewfinder related *cough* Yep, totally hush hush.

YAOI NEWS: DMP Interview About Viewfinder
Since the news broke about the licensing of Viewfinder, many fans have been questioning why June would be handling the title instead of 801 Media. Deb Aoki over at About.Com: Manga shot off some questions to Michelle Mauk at Digital Manga Publishing addressing that very question. As far as the bigger concern of censorship, although not specifically addressed with a question, she does touch on it a bit by saying "So this title is special, and we are treating it as something special. We're shooting for the stars here, so we have to make it count!". I'm thinking by saying it will be treated 'special' (hell, it has its own website already!) that this is their way of saying it won't be treated like their typical June titles and therefore won't be censored all to hell.
What do you think? Worried? Not worried? Don't care?

Gardena, CA (3/11/10)- Digital Manga Publishing and Libre Shuppan are proud to announce the licensing of the Finder Series by Ayano Yamane! The Finder series has been one of the most heavily requested series from our readers, and has been considered by fans of the yaoi genre to be the quintessential yaoi title. From one of Japan's top-selling yaoi mangaka, Ayano Yamane, DMP is proud to release the Finder series beginning with volume one in the summer of 2010 under the June' imprint. For more information, news updates, and to keep on top of all things Finder, visit the Finder website at www.finderseries.com!

YAOI NEWS: Media Blasters Layoffs
ANN reported yesterday that Media Blasters is going through some layoffs due to decreasing vendor orders. Kitty Media is a part of Media Blasters and a publisher of yaoi. This explains why they have been slow or delayed on some releases. Unfortunately, Kitty Media holds the license for Crimson Spell so I'm thinking it will be a long time before we see Crimson Spell V3 IF we see it at all. I'm not saying they are on their way out, just that I don't think yaoi is top on their list of priorities right now but I could be wrong. I've sent off an email to them so if they respond with any further information, I'll let you know. This also makes me question if they are still in the running for the Viewfinder license. That's going to be one pricey license and I can't imagine them shelling out money for it at a time like this. I guess we'll see.
Your thoughts?
(As I was typing this I received an email from Rightstuf telling me Wintertime Love's release date is now 12/12/12 (this is a Kitty Media title). I've seen Rightstuf do this before and that usually means they don't have a release date for it anymore. Their site says "Coming Soon, Date to be Determined". ANN stated Media Blasters didn't think the layoffs would affect their current release schedule. I find it hard to believe this is a coincidence though.)

YAOI ANIME REVIEW: Ikoku Irokoi Romantan OVA 2
Yes, you heard me right, Ikoku Irokoi Romantan OVA 2 has been fansubbed in English!!! (This may be better known as A Foreign Love Affair by some of you English readers of the manga) However, be aware that AarinFantasy.com is not hosting it so you will need to find it elsewhere (hint… it’s called YouTube).
